For the love of books

Because I am a kind and generous man (and because I was getting lunch next door to there), I just stopped in my local Copperfields bookstore in Santa Rosa and signed more Pearls books.  By request, I tried to draw some with Pig and Snuffles in them (as opposed to my usual Rat).   There aren’t a ton of them, so if you want one, you’ll probably need to call soon.  707-578-8938.

  1. Will you ever do any book signings in San Antonio? I’d love to have a signed Pearls Before Swine book.

  2. Boo hoo! I just called and there are no more books with Snuffles in them left.

  3. By the way, I forgot to mention, when I called Copperfield’s to ask if they had one of your books with a Snuffles drawn in it, the very nice lady on the phone wasn’t sure what Snuffles was so I explained that it would be a drawing of a cat. She said no, no cats, but there was one book with a pig and another with a mouse. Hee hee. I could hear so many responses that Rat would give to that! Do you ever read these blog comments?

  4. This conjures up images of you strutting into a random bookstore unannounced and starting to sign every pearls book and put it back on the shelf.

It would be interesting to see how many stores you could do this in before they confront you and demand to know who the hell you think you are!

I think you should do it. I’d do it.

Think of the disbelief you’d sow into those hapless consumers when they spot your signature… “No, surely that’s printed there… it couldn’t be…”

    hahaha

  5. If you really wanted to be a kind and generous benefactor (that we all know you are), you would mail me, your biggest fan (I weigh 290 lbs), a signed copy of your book.

I am so poor, people are breaking into my home and leaving me stuff. I can’t even afford internet access. I’m writing this to your blog with my mind.

  6. I went to the book store and asked them to sell it to me at a discount since that one was scribbled all over.
